Custer County is a sparsely populated county west of Pueblo and southwest of Canon City. It is nestled between the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the west and the Wet Mountains to the east. Custer County is a popular summer tourist destination, as it offers many outdoor recreational activities. The town of Westcliffe, once a vibrant mining town, is the county seat and offers a stunning, panoramic view of the Sangre de Cristo Range to the west.
