Gunnison County is located in
the west central Colorado with Gunnison, home of Western State College, as its largest city and county seat. It is a comparatively large county (3,259 square miles) and the towns
of Doyleville, Pitkin, Ohio City, Crested Butte, Marble and Somerset are also within county limits.
Gunnison County is bordered by the Continental Divide to the east, and it is well-known for its rural scenery and outdoor activities, including the West Elk wilderness area, skiing in Crested Butte and numerous camping areas in the Taylor Park region.
